TopSlateTM
(a) TopSlate vents and caps shall be manufactured under license by Castle Metal Products.

| Ventilating Base |
(a) Ventilating base shall be continuous, low profile and resistant to compression, providing a net free area of 18 square inches per lineal foot of ridge. Ventilating base shall be approved for use by TopSlate Manufacturer.
(b) Ridge vents shall be accompanied by adequate soffit ventilation.
| Slate |
(a) Slate shall be _____inches long (consult TopSlate Manufacturer: provide pitch; if possible, provide sectional ridge drawing) and less than 5/16 inches thick). (If other, advise manufacturer).
(b) All slate shall be hard, dense, sound rock. Slate shall be un-punched. No cracked slate shall be used. all exposed corners shall be practically full. No broken corners will be allowed.

| Ridges |
(a) All ridges shall be finished with the TopSlate system.
| Hips |
(b) All hips shall be finished with the TopSlate system.
| Installation |
TopSlate: Follow Manufacturer's recommendations.
Ventilating Base: Follow recommendations of vent manufacturer while observing recommendations of TopSlate manufacturer. Generally, vents are not applied to hips.
